Tier Achieved:
Amazing food. Hygiene score you can forgive.
The food slaps and hygiene is "Good" — not perfect, but nothing to worry about. Go for it.
The Royal Oak is the pub that’s got it all—great food, drinks, and a homely vibe. Fuad Tabba found it to be a solid choice for a Saturday lunch, despite some construction noise. You can’t go wrong here with their scotch eggs and Sunday roast, as Z says they’ll have you licking your fingers. The beer and cocktail selection is also on point, making it a great chill spot after work.
However, if you're looking for a peaceful chat, you might want to bring earplugs. The ambiance can get a bit raucous, as noted by Sven Rajala. But if you’re there for the food and drinks, you’ll leave happy, just maybe a little deaf.
"The food was very good, but a bit expensive for the amount."
"I can’t fault this place. The best pub I’ve ever been to."
"Cozy atmosphere and a good selection of drinks."
