Tier Achieved:
Mediocre energy. You'd probably do better cooking at home.
The epitome of "does the job." Safe enough, food's fine. But let's be honest — your kitchen's probably cleaner AND tastier.
Kamome, Japanese Kitchen is a quick-stop eatery that’s clean, but let’s be honest, it’s missing some finesse. The chicken katsu curry gets a thumbs up from Johan and Cheng-Yun, but it seems like the quality has been on a downhill slope. Timur and Tanguy both point out that portion sizes have shrunk while prices have not, which is a big no-no in my book.
If you’re in a rush between classes at Imperial, it’s fine—but don’t expect a culinary revelation. The vibe is student-friendly, so if you’re after something quick without the extra flair, it’ll do. Just know you might leave feeling a bit cheated on your rice-to-sauce ratio.
"Tasty Japanese chicken katsu curry and student vibe."
"Enjoy katsu chicken curry."
"Best chicken katsu curry I have ever tasted in the UK."
