Tier Achieved:
Mediocre energy. You'd probably do better cooking at home.
The epitome of "does the job." Safe enough, food's fine. But let's be honest β your kitchen's probably cleaner AND tastier.
Gail's Walthamstow Village is a classic case of beauty and the beast. The pastries and coffee have their fans, but service and cleanliness seem to be the real letdown here. Thereβs a lot to likeβthe almond croissant is crispy and soft, and the staff can be lovely, especially Funda, but the dirtiness of the place is a hard pill to swallow. Customers like Ala Zommer are leaving with fly-infested pastries and questionable cutleryβand that's a serious red flag in the food game.
At the end of the day, if you can look past the grime, you might find a decent spot for baked goods. Just donβt expect a Michelin star experience, or you might end up feeling more disappointed than satisfied.
"Really really good coffee with amazing art by the staff."
"The staff are lovely."
"The staff were very kind, and lovely to talk to."
