Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Gopal's Corner is a casual spot that's trying to channel that Malaysian street food vibe but isn't quite nailing it. The prawn roti wrap and fried okra fries are solid choices, but don't get your hopes up for anything too spicy like my Canadian friend’s lamb roti. The decor is as plain as the service is friendly, with a mint yoghurt dip that’s more refreshing than memorable. But hey, if you're in the area and craving some authenticity, it might just tickle your taste buds.
The atmosphere is lively, thanks to the friendly staff and the bustling market hall, but watch out for the music that can drown out your conversations. Most dishes hit the mark, but if you find yourself in the mood for something more exciting than what Gopal's offers, you might want to keep walking. If nothing else, the teh tarik is a solid drink to cool down the palate post-meal, assuming you can handle the heat.
"The cold Malaysian pulled tea was incredibly refreshing"
