The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Mumtaz Mehal is the kind of Indian restaurant that tries hard but sometimes misses the mark. Crista thinks it’s amazing, comparing it to local shops back in America, which is a bit of an overstatement. Leon’s raving about the Tikka Masala and kebabs like they’re the second coming. Kerry had a lovely first visit, singing praises for the variety and flavours, yet not everyone’s singing in harmony. Sophie had a poppadom fiasco that left her feeling like she was robbed, and David found the food bland and the waiters rude. You can’t win them all.
So, if you’re in the area and want to roll the dice on your meal, Mumtaz Mehal could either delight you or leave you regretting your choice. Just know that when it’s good, it’s great, and when it’s not, well, you might need a backup plan.
