Costa R Block at UWE is a caffeine fix for the student soul, but don’t go in expecting a miracle. Hygiene is a solid 5/5, which is great, but service can be hit or miss, much like a student’s energy levels during exam season. While Lorenzo and Rasya rave about the friendly staff and solid drinks, not everyone is sold—especially those who got the unfortunate watery hot chocolate.

The coffee is decent enough, and the outdoor seating is a perk for those sunny days when you’re trying to pretend you’re not buried under a pile of coursework. If you’re in need of a quick pick-me-up, it might just do the trick, but don’t have high expectations for a gourmet experience. Just don’t expect them to be open when you need them, because this place loves to play hard to get.
