Tier Achieved:
Mediocre energy. You'd probably do better cooking at home.
The epitome of "does the job." Safe enough, food's fine. But let's be honest — your kitchen's probably cleaner AND tastier.
Tesco Barnstaple Customer Cafe is like the Bermuda Triangle of dining experiences—once you step in, you may never want to return. It’s got a shiny new look but the service seems to have taken a nosedive. Reviewers are reporting miserable staff and a strange aversion to cash payments, which makes ordering feel like a game of 'how long can I stand in line before I walk out?'. If you’re lucky, you might find a table that hasn’t been abandoned by the last customers.
While the food is sometimes decent, the wait times and atmosphere are more akin to a school cafeteria than a customer-friendly cafe. So if you’re in a pinch, it’s better to grab a sandwich and leg it rather than risking your sanity inside. It's clean and the hygiene score is solid, but that won’t save you from the automotive ordering fiasco that’s going on here.
"Miserable and unwelcoming staff."
"The lady abruptly said 'no. No Changes or substitutes'."
"Food is usually nice and good value for money but it is very slow."
