Crown City is where you go when you want a Chinese meal but don’t expect a Michelin star. Lorraine Hingert and Richard Sterna are singing praises for the set menu and great quality food on a quiet night. But don’t let those 5-star reviews fool you; Tracy Brewster and Sarah Mottram are here to drop the reality check, calling out average starters and cold mains. Paul Jarvis even high-tailed it out of there over a pre-meal bill that left him cold.

It’s a mixed bag, really. You’ve got the potential for a lovely meal, but also the risk of disappointment lurking around the corner.
