Appamma Kitchen brings Sri Lankan flavors to the forefront, and they’re not shy about it. Kohulan declares it an authentic experience that’s rich in flavor, while Mily savors the curry offerings, giving a nod to the paratha over naan. But not everyone is leaving with a smile. Nambirajan found the mutton pieces a bit tough, and one diner left £60 poorer with a soggy naan and brown lettuce salad — definitely a letdown. They still need to tighten up on consistency and pricing, but overall, if you’re after a taste of Sri Lanka, this is a decent shot.
The service shines bright, especially with kudos directed at Harsha for his attentive nature. With a five hygiene rating, you won’t be clutching your stomach in fear, but just prepare for some dishes to hit better than others.
