🏠 Malaysian Deli, 338 Brockley Road, London, SE4 2BT
Tier Achieved:
Amazing food. Hygiene score you can forgive.
The food slaps and hygiene is "Good" — not perfect, but nothing to worry about. Go for it.
Malaysian Deli is one of those places that sneaks up on you like a lovely surprise. The décor feels like you’ve wandered into someone’s family gathering, and the friendly staff are there to make sure you feel like part of the family too. The Mackerel Sambal is a standout, and for only £35 for two? It’s a budget win. But beware of the roti canai; Celeste was not impressed, and it sounds like a soggy mess if you get it wrong.
Overall, it’s authentic Malaysian food at decent prices, but don’t expect Michelin stars here. It’s more like warm hugs from an auntie who can cook, minus the judgment about your life choices. Just make sure to book ahead, or you might miss out on the experience altogether.
"What a wonderful gem of a restaurant hidden in Crofton Park."
"Small and simple menu but the food is good and authentic."
"I thought the Mackerel Sambal was particularly good."
