Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Dozo South Kensington is a solid spot for a post-museum nosh. The sukiyaki is like a warm hug, while the volcano roll is an Instagrammable explosion of flavors. Remember Charlotte, the server with a heart of gold? She makes the chilled atmosphere even cozier. But don’t expect any culinary fireworks here; it's good, not mind-blowing. You’ll leave satisfied but not necessarily raving about it.
The place looks great and the staff is friendly, but you'll want to keep your expectations in check. It's a popular pit stop, especially after hitting the V&A, so you might need to wait just a tad on busy days. Overall, it's decent enough to pop into when your tummy starts rumbling but don’t go expecting to have your mind blown. It’s your average sushi joint with a sprinkle of charm, nothing more, nothing less.
"Their sukiyaki is my absolute favorite – rich, comforting, and full of ingredients."
"The volcano roll is exactly as dramatic as it sounds – bold, flavorful, and beautifully plated."
"The foie gras hand roll is a must-try, and both the curry katsu chicken and sashimi were impressive as well."
