🏠 The Smokehouse, 63-69 Canonbury Road, London, N1 2DG
Tier Achieved:
Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
The Smokehouse is a bit of a mixed grill itself, with some raving fans and others left feeling shortchanged. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy meal, and the Sunday roast is where they shine. Think melt-in-your-mouth meats and Yorkshire pudding that could make you weak at the knees. But be warned: if you get a less enthusiastic waiter, the service can feel as flat as the Yorkshire pudding was fluffy.
If you do make it here for a roast, be prepared for a wait, and maybe check your reservation twice, because they don’t seem to like walk-ins. It’s a decent spot for a Sunday indulgence, just don’t expect everything to be perfect. It's a roll of the dice when it comes to service, but the food is worth the risk.
"Honestly one of the best roasts I’ve had in London."
"The food was great."
"Not surprised that I enjoyed this one!"
