The food slaps and hygiene is "Good" — not perfect, but nothing to worry about. Go for it.
La Farola is the kind of place that serves tapas and gives you a cozy vibe, perfect for impressing the in-laws. The tortilla with chorizo is a crowd-pleaser, and don’t sleep on the octopus—absolutely excellent, or so Edoardo claims. That said, while the atmosphere is cute and the drinks are good (the elder bloom cocktail got a thumbs up from Lily), the food doesn’t quite deliver that 'wow' factor. It's decent but not mind-blowing. Poppy had a great time, but even she admitted some dishes are just good, not amazing.
You’ll leave satisfied but not necessarily raving about your meal. It’s a safe bet for a chill lunch or dinner, but if you’re looking for a culinary adventure, you might want to keep searching. Tessa found the service quick and helpful, which is a bonus in a busy place like this. So, if you’re craving some tapas and you’re in Islington, La Farola won’t make you cry. Just don’t expect fireworks. 🎇
