🏠 Katsuma / Haiso-Zumi, 30C Great Sutton Street, London, EC1V 0DN
Tier Achieved:
Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Katsuma / Haiso-Zumi is the kind of sushi spot that tries hard but just plays it safe most of the time. The Haiso-Zumi special crunchy rolls were a standout, but let’s be honest, they need to up their game to impress anyone tired of the same old sushi routine. A. V. Mani raved about the pomegranate and orange salad, which seems like a weird flex for a sushi place, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
On the flip side, Stewart Harvey-Wilson had a nightmare experience, calling out the food as 'yesterday’s leftovers.' That's the kind of vibe that’ll have you checking for expiration dates before you dig in. It’s a mixed bag, really. If you’re in the area, it’s fine for a quick bite, but don’t expect to be blown away. Just come for the crunchy rolls and keep your expectations in check.
