Tier Achieved:
Mediocre energy. You'd probably do better cooking at home.
The epitome of "does the job." Safe enough, food's fine. But let's be honest — your kitchen's probably cleaner AND tastier.
Banana African Restaurant and Bar is like your friend who throws a party but never cleans up after. The food can be a blast—just ask about the yam porridge, which is apparently the bomb. The owners are super warm and welcoming, making sure you're having a good time even if the DJ thinks they’re still in the ‘90s. But then there’s the Jollof and plantain that could rival a Michelin-star dish; it’s hit or miss, and sometimes you’re left wishing for a takeaway.
Expect a solid atmosphere but also a few hiccups. Some meals come out swinging with flavor while others might leave you questioning life choices. It’s all part of the experience here—come for the vibe, but don’t count on consistency.
"the yam porridge is delicious!"
"the Jollof, plantain and fried fish was out of this world"
"love the peppery taste for those peppery lovers"
