π Cafe Boatclub Spring Hill Hackney London, Hackney, E5 9BL
Tier Achieved:
Mediocre energy. You'd probably do better cooking at home.
The epitome of "does the job." Safe enough, food's fine. But let's be honest β your kitchen's probably cleaner AND tastier.
The Boathouse Cafe is a cozy spot that seems to have its heart in the right place but maybe needs to work on its hospitality handbook. The views are stunning, especially if you like staring at water while chomping down on a Sunday roast that might just make you forget your worriesβif they ever arrive at your table, that is. The atmosphere is generally relaxed and family-friendly, which is a bonus, as you can ignore the occasional grumpy staff member.
However, be warned: if you need to use the loo, prepare for a battle. One reviewer reported some seriously rude interactions with staff just for wanting to relieve themselves. Itβs like the chef thinks they can charge a cover fee for using the facilities. So, if you can hold it, maybe grab a coffee and sit tight until you can find a more welcoming spot.
