The epitome of "does the job." Safe enough, food's fine. But let's be honest — your kitchen's probably cleaner AND tastier.
Caffe Nero does the clean thing right, but the food? Not so much. They may have a 5-star hygiene rating, but you’d think they serve coffee brewed from sad tears based on the customer service. Paul Michael Berry nearly had a meltdown waiting in a queue while baristas busied themselves with the art of ignoring him. The pistachio cake was stale, and the apricot croissant was so raw it could have been a contestant on a cooking show for disaster dishes. Jess enjoyed a toasty, but it was soggier than a rain-soaked cardboard box. With big windows to watch your dreams of good food drift by, this place is more of a 'fuel stop' than a dining destination.
If you’re after a caffeine fix and an opportunity to contemplate your life choices while waiting for service, then Caffe Nero is your place. Just don't expect to leave with any culinary highlights or a smile from the staff - they seem to have left those at the door. ☕️
